Pots of Colorful Flowers: Use flower pots and urns of various sizes and shapes to provide focal points and privacy. Adding trellises, arbors and pyramid plant stands for added interest and height. Mood Lighting: Strategically placed lighting makes your outdoor living space feel cozy and inviting. This can be done with Noma lighting, candles, candle chandelier, torches, gas burning pots, mini white lights or exterior epits to name just a few. Reminder: never leave candles or torches unattended and be sure fire-pits are not on wooden decks. Furniture: No furniture? Don't fret. Spend a couple of Saturday mornings at garage sales and you will find everything you need. Old wooden chairs, kitchen tables, wrought baker racks are all excellent finds. Not in good shape - great! This is your opportunity to have some fun. Paint them bright fun colors - they don't all have to match either. Add some fun fabric cushions to the seats and you've got cheap outdoor patio furniture that looks great (and will stand up much better than the resin chairs you can buy). Color: This is a great chance to use colors you wouldn't use indoors. Pull shades from your flower boxes - bright pinks and yellows, red, orange, lime greens, purples. Paint table legs one color and table top another. Get creative, test your painting skills by adding butterflies, dragonflies and flowers to your furniture. |
